I ordered a Blue and a White DIY kit from Cube4You.com and was wondering if you guys could tell me how to tune it to get a nice loose cube and how to put it together.

Also, is it possible to tune a cube I got from the store? I pried oper the center-piece and I can't screw the thing from there becaue it does't have the phillip's screwdriver mark or whatever you call this + on it. so I don't know.

If the times in your signiture are right and up to date, then i wouldn't worry much about a DIY Cube.

To tune normal store cubes you just have to give them time, to speed up the process add sand, give it a few solves then clean it out and lube it. It Should be a bit better at that point. Both mine are store bought and after a year of owning them they're just where i want them.

Yeah, I have a new average now(48.xx) and my cubeseems to be loosening up. It might be due to the fact that I lube it a little too often. I also dropped in in the sand at the beach(on purpose!) a few weeks ago so it is started to show some speed.

However if possible I plan to use my DIY cubes frm BLD and regular solves in competition and my old cube(well only about a month and week or two old) for one-handed cubing in competition.
