Tired of Religion threads,let's have a Philosophy Thread?

4Chan, I'd also recommend Anthem, which can literally be read in an hour or two. It's quite to the point of her philosophy. Also, I'm about halfway through The Fountainhead, and not only do I love her philosophy and reasoning, but the book is extremely entertaining, captivating and well-written.

@Dene,

Ayn Rand and Immanuel Kant are opposites. If you advocate Kant, it's not surprising you would be anti-Rand. It's an interesting tension, to be sure.

Well actually, to be perfectly honest I'm not overly familiar with Rand other than with her ethics. I am not particularly fond of Kant either, but that doesn't make his work worthless.

At the moment, my primary focus is not on philosophy, but on psychology. If I get back into philosophy later in life, I will focus on existentialism, which I find to be the most applicable topic to myself.
