Hi, I've been using www.cubetimer.com recently to time myself, however there are times when I do not have access to internet on my laptop but would still like to time myself..

So, is there a downloadable program such as cubetimer.com that I can get somewhere (for free)?

Edit: Yes, I did try the search feature, unfortunately searching for "timer" or "time" results in way too many irrelevant threads.

Caltech Cube Timer is an excellent program, I have tried many and this is the one that offered just about everything I needed.
The first thing you will notice is you need an 'account', this means that more than one person can use CCT without getting averages mixed up.
The system is as simple as any other, space bar to start and space bar to stop. Optionally you can add a 15 Second inspection time as you would expect, this however is the only timer I can get disqualified on!

My favourite aspect of CCT is sessions, everyday or every new average you can just start a new session. It will calculate a separate average from other sessions but add up to an 'All Time Average' which is another thing I like, you can see your progress quite clearly although not in graph form like some timers.

I would definitely say try it, you'll love all of the customising you can do to it!

If you get too many results, use more (specific) keywords (e.g., "offline timer"). Or choose "Search Titles Only" instead of "Search Entire Posts".

There's also the wiki you can check as well, link is in the leftnav. As a new cuber I've found a lot of good stuff by reading through the wiki instead of trying to wade through the forums myself. Info on timers is under the "Cube Software" heading on the homepage of the wiki, and you even have the option of going to the "web-based" or "pc-based" section. :)
