time cubing vs. average time

That reflects nothing on what he is looking for. He wants averages. Anyone can get lucky

Makes me discouraged to hear that faz has only been cubing for like what, 9 months??

Actually it's slightly over 2 years, I believe.

4 1/2 years with very little practice(until recently) - 35 seconds.
I learned to solve the cube about 4 1/2 years ago and didn't do much other than that. I started learning Fridrich fairly recently(I knew beginners lbl before) and my times dropped from about 1:05 to the current 35 seconds.
