This is Scott (TheCubeSolve) and I started cubing about three weeks ago. I only have a storebought 3x3 and average a little more than a minute. My PB so far is 55.74. I am looking into buying a new 3x3 and also an Eastsheen 2x2!

I am starting to learn Fridrich. Earlier today I finally solved the F2L. I am trying to get better at it.

Cool, good luck with that, I encourage you to try other methods, such as Petrus, Heise, Roux, Waterman, Corners First, etc.

I've heard of Roux but never watched a tutorial on it. I'll go look at one.

Don't use Roux just because people tell you, use it if you like it. Try other methods too.

Hooray for waffle! I recommend you buy a lubricant if you're going to use roux because of the M moves. (preferably CRC silicone)

I'm going to be buying a new cube soon so I'm going to buy CRC and use it on the new cube. I will probably stick with Fridrich because I know a little of F2L.

As competitions are scheduled, they are added to the list. Sometimes they are scheduled many months in advance, and sometimes only a couple months beforehand. You just have to wait and see what pops up.

I see that you are located in Ohio... Notice the KOII link in my sig? We organize competitions in the area frequently... hopefully we will have a couple planned soon.
