I learned the V-Perm in 1 minute! I looked over it, read the strategies listed (badmpehisto's site), and thought of some of my own. I left to go do something for about 2 minutes, and then came back and performed it correctly.
true, I just can't get myself to learn the new F2l algs
I just randomly picked up the oll and pll algs I have now because I read them here, and I made up my own Z perm when I couldn't get any sleep
Mhmm, I find algorithms easy to "remember" at first, and after a couple of times of doing it I know it completely, but I have a problem with the recoginiton and I think it is actually bad to use scrambles (aka inverse algorithms) because you don't learn it as well, because you are doing it backwards so it means you don't remember it so well, you just perform the reverse of something.
I wouldn't get too over-elated about having success learning some algorithms because, maybe when you come to more complex ways to solve the cube, you will find the real problems.
But cool that you are learning them fast and good luck.
PLLs, I agree aren't too bad. I find OLL not too bad either because you practise the F"L whilst doing it. At the moment I am perfecting F2L and working on my recognition, so that fact that I did the inverse for a while was pretty crap and didn't work that well.
