i think the classification is not about your time, but about your knowledge about it. for example, Jaap Scherphuis may be no very fast, but he is one of the person that knows more about the cube

Professional? Then you would have to get paid so you don't need another job, right? How many cubers get paid?
hahaha that means me and my friend are pros, we have both been paid a nickle for solving the cube XP
I'm not sure, but maybe...
LBL + Beginner LL = Beginner
F2L + 4LLL = Intermediate
F2L + 3LLL = Advanced
F2L + 2LLL = Pro
This isn't exactly accurate, but it should give you a rough idea.
And plus, it also depends on how good your F2L is.
This is in terms of how much you know, not how fast you are.
Because with F2L + 4LLL, some people can sub 20, making them a pro.
Depends what you mean by "professional" and "beginner" really.
Their knowledge of the cube, how fast they are, etc.
And also, don't forget about the people whose main method isn't Fridrich.

did you not read the last sentence?

...I don't see anything...
"Main method isn't fridrich"= Other methods.
How did you miss that?
There should only be 2 pros in cubing
- Ton Dennenbroek
- Ron van Bruchem
I personally don't consider fast times to be professional at all. Rather it should be measured by experience.
So Faz is a noob compared to pros.

i recognize the names, but why are they pros?
and +1
I know that nlcuber22 can actually do sub-20 averages with 4ll. While only cubing for about 3 months.

If I took an average of 12 with 4LLL then it would most likely be sup 20. But probably sub25. I still use 2LOLL some (about 30 OLLs) and I have gotten sub15 averages before. Also it's more like 4 months.
original poster: learning full PLL is good, but F2L is what is really slowing you down. If you say you average around 23 for F2L and 35 for a full solve then that means that your last layer is around 12 seconds. If you get your F2L down to 15, that means sub 30 averages. Then if you learn full PLL, that should mean sub 10 last layer. Which means around 25 averages. Then, you could get your F2L down to the 12/13 area which means sub 25 averages. Then you start OLL, and so on until you are sub 15![]()
Man how the heck are you doing 22.81 seconds using LBL + 4LLL? I know Erik did a video where he did it in 19 seconds but that was long after he was good with look ahead in Fridrich Method. My PB using Keyhole was 32.
You're not pro if you say you're pro. That's why I'm not.
i think i need to futher more m practice in F2Ls becuase i average around 23~25 seconds. i just need to practice look ahead. OLL wise i need two more to learn for 2 look oll which i will pause for now. PLL wise i need to learn one more for 2 look. E perm. so i think i should continue on PLL till i know full PLL then work on my F2L. so what do you think?
OMG.
You barely know 4LLL and you're better than me. O.O
I do 2look OLL and Full PLL and I'm 25 - 30 seconds. T_T
Well, to be a pro you need to be paid for it, I don't know of anyone whos occupation is solving rubik's cubes.
I would call it expert
+1For me it's not just about the times or the number of algs you know that make someone an experienced cuber. For me the social factor plays also a big role in making someone experienced, as well as trying to make up your own methods and/or algs. As long as you just blindly execute the algs and don't think about what you're doing, no matter how fast you are, you are not an experienced cuber. Also as long as you're just trashing the forum and being ignorant etc., no matter how fast you are, you are not an experienced cuber.
Cubing isn't just about solving Rubik's cubes as fast as possible, it's about having fun, meeting other people, travelling and making friend in the other side of the world (okay it's mainly about solving cubes but those said before are a big part of cubing too).
A case in point is Arnaud van Galen. He's best average in competition is 19.96 and he uses keyhole for F2L. But still I would call him an experienced cuber, he's been to 53 competitions and for me represents what cubers are, not just a bunch of geeks trying to solve rubik's cubes, but a bunch of friendly, fun and out-going people.
