Hello all,

I have a 2005 or 2006 (can't remember which) mold of Rubik's DIY and a 2008 Cubefans DIY type D (black). For some obscure reason I sanded down both of them... Both of them still locks quite a bit, and I was wondering what I should do. If I loosen the screws on my Rubik's, it starts popping like crazy, and same applies to my type D. I can't cut corners very easily at all right now with either of these DIYs.

I thought sanding would take care of those problems and make the cubes not lock up and easier to cut corners, but it obviously doesn't. I heard some where that breaking-in the cubes correctly helps a lot...
Do you guys have any suggestions on how I should take care of this?

Thanks!

sanding makes everything pop prone. sand as lightly as you can if you can.

I have a rubik's.com DIY. what i've done with my 2006-2008 cubes is just twist insanely. The Rubik's.com DIY has to be tighter in the screws. its just how it is. I personally love the 2006 core on my Rubiks.com cubes.
