THE RESULTS ARE IN
Recap: All competitors selected an event besides 2x2 and submitted an Ao5 on said event. Places #3 and #6 will be eliminated. This first round was a test of weighing probabilities with multiple variables: The event, your performance on the event, the competitor pool, and the places corresponding to elimination. I will post the order of competitors by Ao5 ranking (all events compared) along with their best time and event.
1. @BVCuber13: Clock; Ao5 = 5.27, Best Single = 4.10
2. @CAPTAINVALPO96: Clock; Ao5 = 6.27, Best Single = 5.80
3. @precompsubwr: 3x3; Ao5 = 6.71, Best Single = 5.95
4. @gsingh: 3x3; Ao5 = 6.76, Best Single = 6.18
5. @AJT17: 3x3; Ao5 = 9.68, Best Single = 7.31
6. @LukasCubes: 3x3; Ao5 = 10.59, Best Single = 9.18
7. @AhsanDaCuber125: Pyraminx; Ao5 = 11.50, Best Single = 10.33
8. @Cubist-Guitar: 4x4; Ao5 = 39.14, Best Single = 37.33
9. @An Animating Cuber: Pyraminx; Ao5 = 42.82, Best Single = 21.98
10. @SkewbIsTheBestEvent: 5x5; Ao5 = 1:11.35, Best Single = 1:06.46
11. @Abram Grimsley: 6x6; Ao5 = 4:06.77, Best Single = 3:31.71
12. @bldcuber314: 3x3; Ao5 = DNF, Best Single = DNF
Great job to everyone, including the two who are unfortunately eliminated (both of whom had great 3x3 averages).
There is an advantage in Round 2 for the top 5 advancing competitors (places #1, #2, #4, #5, and #7; All highlighted in gold). I will randomly be splitting the remaining 10 competitors into groups of 2 for head-to-head competition. The competitors with places corresponding to those above will select the event of ONE pair (which will also be randomly generated). The winners of the duels will be safe from elimination, and the remaining five competitors will battle in a guessing game to decide who is eliminated (assume 1 competitor, unless there is somehow a tie).
I will create the randomly generated grouos soon! There WILL be scrambles generated for you in Round 2. When deciding an event for your assigned pair (if you were in the top 5 advancing competitors), reference the first page or two of this thread to see what events people can do. The choice is completely up to you, and you can select absolutely anything they put.
