The 3x3x3 Example Solve Thread

You didn't put a "next scramble" at the end of your solve, so I'll solve L U2 F2 R2 U2 D L' R B R2 F L' D B D2 B' D2 U2 L R2 D' L' F2 R2 B.

U' B U S D S' D' F' (8/8) 2x2x3 minus one edge
x2 U' L F' L' (4/12) XXcross
y' L U2 L' d' L' U' L R' U' R d' (11/23) AB3E
r U R' U' M U R U' R' (9/32) LL
35 HTM

I've gotten so lucky the last two scrambles that I haven't even had an instance where checking the inverse would be advantageous. The 37 HTM solve I got last post as well as this solve both had linear last layers. In both cases, I found an XXcross, then (speed)solved the cube just so I could rescramble and reconstruct the XXcross, and got a PLL skip by chance.

EDIT: I'm a noob... LL was a 3 cycle... what was I talking about with not even needing advanced FMC stuff? Going to look for insertions now... brb
Aaaand can't find anything. Don't really know how comms work; don't really know how to look for good spots for them. I was mostly looking for easy setups to M' U2 M U2 or something similar, and couldn't find one.

Speedcuber71, You beat me to it! Here's my solution anyway:

Scramble: U2 R2 B2 L' U2 R' U2 F2 L' B D U' B2 L F2 U2 D L' F2 D2 U2 B U L' R'

[INVERSE] (nothing looked good in the non-inverse)

[Premoves - B L' B']

F L' U B D' B' D B2 | 2x2x2 - 8 moves
U L' F2 | 2x2x3 - 4 moves
L' F U2 F' L | Rest of F2L - 5 moves
F U R U' R' F' | EO - 6 moves
L' U L U2 L' R U' L U R' U2 L' U' L U' | ZBLL - 15 moves
Undo premoves: B L B' | 3 moves

Inverse Solution: F L' U B D' B' D B2 U L' F2 L' F U2 F' L F U R U' R' F' L' U L U2 L' R U' L U R' U2 L' U' L U' B L B'

Final solution: B L B' U L' U L U2 R U' L' U R' L U2 L' U' L F R U R' U' F' L' F U2 F' L F2 L U' B2 D' B D B' U' L F'

Jay, you have tought me well, I used to average mid 50s

U2 M' U M (4/15) XXXcross
d' L F' L' F2 R U R' F' (9/24) AB3C

I can't get the solution to work on the normal scramble. I'm guessing slice moves make inverting the solution and putting it on the normal scramble not work? Can someone who is experienced with FMC confirm that? I'm also struggling with using insertions. I'll keep working on this solution.

You know you aren't allowed to look up last layer algs in comps, right? It'd probably be worth your while if you either started practicing insertions or just stuck to LL algs you know :p

Yeah, that was before I understood insertions. And who says you can't (discreetly) look up als in comps? :p
