I have a question on the rules of team solving. I hold the cube in my left hand as If I was OH cubing and my friend just freely turns on his turn. Since I am more experienced then him I often hold the cube in such a way that he cannot make certain turns so that he has to make the turn I want him to. Are both of these things allowed?

Ok I was just following what I saw Harris Chan and Andrew Kang do in a video on facebook, holding the cube like that. But I no longer have to impede his movements because he knows how to more efficiently do cross and f2l from our teamsolving.
