Tai Yan & Edison Cubes

I got 2 Edison cubes and 1 Tai yan cube lately.

The black Edison i got from cubenjoy is tight at first but after loosening the tension and lubing it, it was awesome.

However, the white Edison i got from tribox is not so good. It was pre lubed but it is not smooth, and M slice moves are just not so smooth. It does not cut corners that well. Overall, the cube felt stiff.

The Tai Yan cube is to loose. Dont get me wrong. I have tighten the cube to the extent that just two more screw turns and the cube will not be able to be turned. When i just finish assembling it, it was still ok, not so loose. But after i lubed it with silicon, it became too loose. The layers start overturning when i turned them. G perms n the E perm is hard to execute due to this. Gripping the 2x2x3 block does not feel stable at all when solving the cube. It does not cut corners to good.

Anybody have similar experiences?

Upwards of two years to make a post. I applaud you :D

As for the cubes, I don't know. I'm ordering a Taiyan and an F-II today, so I'll get back to you on the Taiyan part ;)

Have you been lurking this entire time?

Not really lurking... All the stuff i want to know just happened to be posted already and this site recommends to search first before starting any new post.

However, most people say Edison cubes are good. Honestly, they are just ok. I think they will suit those who like the cube slightly stiff. It feels like a frim n steady cube to play with.

taiyans aren't that fast, even with lube....sounds like an old A I might be more up your alley
either you don't have a dayan on you are using some seriously messed up lube

a. i was saying they arent so fast where you overturn sides like OP was sayin

b. i have a taiyan lubed with jigaloo, and while its still a good cube its nowhere near the quality and speed my f-II is
