ok thank you everyone i would now consider myself almost sub-30 with practice but i have now got a problem with F2L it takes up most of my solve is there anyway to fix that without learning algorithmic F2L

At 41 seconds, getting a new speed cube won't make any difference whatsoever. The Zhanchi is a great cube. Just practice and you'll be at 30 seconds within a month or two. At this stage, your greatest improvement will come from just doing what you're already doing more comfortably and fluidly, which can only come from practice.

the cube does have an effect. i was sub 40 with F2L and i was using a zhanchi. I then got a weilong and in a month [and a lot of practice] , i was sub 20

People can sub 8 with the zhanchi, its fine.

Having been stuck at about 42 and recently gone sub 30, i think i can comment. For me that time was mainly getting more comfortable with my f2l pairs. You need to be able to look at a pair and know how to pair and insert before you start moving, and work this out very quickly. When ur closer to 30 you can start trying to lookahead.

Its hard work. Do untimed solves, do timed solves, try blind cross and blind f2l pairs.

Whats the breakdown of your times, cross, f2l, LL? You can also consider learning PLL, but thatll help you times a limited amount.

Hope that helps.

same happened with me, i was averaging around 1:20 and had never heard there was speedcubing, i got a speedcube and i suddenly got 3 solvs under 50 secons, that cant be down to practice- in just one day, but now i want to get even faster

yeah i solved te first layer blind once, before i had even heard about F2L but i do not know what type of F2L to learn the algorithimic ones or the intuative ones or just what i am doing at the moment, working it out

Intuitive f2l means you just figure it out on your own, and I would highly recommend you keep doing it like that. Getting down from 45 to 30 isn't that hard. Stop trying to be fast, to slow and figure out the best way to handle each case and then just work on turning slowly but always knowing what to do next (reduce pauses) and then just slowly increase your turn speed and you'll be sub30 in a month or two.

^That.

do NOT learn algorithmic F2L unless you have already mastered intuitive F2L(finishing F2L+Cross in ten seconds average, imo) and you are using it only to supplement what you already know.

thank you todays averag was at 38 seconds but it varies from 30 seconds to 50 seconds that is why i like averages

i discovered a full F2L method but it does not speed up my time as i have to tuck the corner in the wrong way round and place the other part of F2L by it then do L Di Li D L Di Li and the pair comes in with it but you have to put them all in the wrong way round

Not FTFY but I think it improves a lot of users' readability on the alg.

Yes. Dannah, most people use apostrophes to mean counter clockwise moves, it is much easier to read that way.

F2L will slow your times down a lot in the beginning, but once you get used to it, you will realize how much faster and more efficient it is. Search "badmephisto intuitive F2L" and watch his "Intuitive F2L explained" videos, also watch CrazyBadCuber's "How to learn F2L intuitively" video. They should help a lot. Then search some example solve videos and watch how other people do F2L. You shouldn't use D moves during F2L unless you are using a technique called keyhole, but I doubt you are. Sorry if this seems a little pushy, but I am just trying to help you out. Good luck!

Nah, he/she's holding cross on U.

Dannah, try to put the cross on the bottom or on the left of the cube. It's much easier to see the pieces.
