Sub-# and other terms?

Will I be able to get the OLL and PLL below 30 seconds?

absolutely. i know f2l, full pll and 2 look oll (slower version of full oll but much easier to memorize) and im at 24.9 right now. it takes time though. i started cubing back in july and my times were about a minute 15 seconds using the beginners method. still havent mastered f2l, took about a month to learn pll. and will take much longer to learn full oll, but you can probably get sub 30 without knowing full friedrich. it just takes a lot of practice

July? I started in about May maybe 2007. And I'm still only at 1:30-2:00. How much free time do you have?

It's not about free time. I started in December and am at 35 seconds. It's about how you practice, the dedication you put into it, and the method you use. I suggest learning Fridrich right away, so you can get better at F2L.

Yeah, but if you practice all the time, and someone who has like whole days free and practices the whole day, they can get better times faster than you can. And I practice any chance I get when I'm not playing Digimon RPG Online. (Anime nerd. (Not really. Just Digimon and DragonBall) XP)

Learn a faster method such as Fridrich or Petrus. I highly recommend Fridrich. Remember though, nothing anyone can tell you can actually improve your times dramatically. When it comes to cube solving, it's all about practice.

You have not read a single thing I posted have you? I seriously don't understand people like you.

I said clearly, PRACTICE WITH THE DAN BROWN METHOD UNTIL YOUR AT LEAST UNDER 50 SECONDS OR SO.Learning each and every single algorithm will not help. Heck, do you even understand the cube? I don't mean by just know its made of 6 centers, 12 edges and 8 corners. I mean by how those elements can move. Do you understand commutators? Conjugations? If you're still trying to find F2L algos online I don't recommend you learn full Fridrich. Once you can actually find out how to do F2L yourself then and only then I suggest you learn Full Fridrich. If you want to learn 4-Look Last Layer go ahead because I used that with layer-by-layer approach until I was around 30 seconds where I switched to Roux Method.

When I was at your speed, I didn't even think about using Fridrich yet because I thought "Look at that amount of algos!". Let me tell you something, I'm at 14 seconds average going to 13 seconds and I still have not finished learning every OLL case. Short attention span or not, no one learns 78 algorithms a day.

I can't practice the Dan Brown method to get under a minute. I've been practicing it since about May 2007, until I just started this forum like a week ago. I'm only learning 4 Look Last Layer because full OLL is too much. I won't learn F2L right now, but once I don't need to read algorithms for the 4 Look Last Layer, I'm going to learn F2L.

If you don't want to do the Dan Brown last layer any more then don't. I don't blame you, his method isn't very good. I really wouldn't worry about learning full OLL for a long time yet either. 4-look last layer is a good idea to learn, you could even try and pick up intuitive Fridrich F2L while you're at it. You don't need to learn algorithms for fridrich F2L

Lol. I think this topic has gone off topic a lot and isn't about terms anymore. I'm going to try to find something good for intuitive F2L.
