I am not fast at skewb but these are some basic tips:
I don't know what method you use, but be efficient.
Try to look ahead as much as possible.

Assuming that you use sarah's
Learn intermediate if you haven't already
TPS
Know your first layer in inspection
Try to predict where your U-perms will be/ if you will have a Z-perm
Learn some basic advanced cases
Make sure that your intermediate step is is 3 sledges or less
