Sub 20 solvers dont use tiles?

Well, I'm a hair away from sub 20 (20.27) and I don't use tiles. I used to use tiles (I still have a tiled cube somewhere), but to be honest, I felt like I had LESS grip with tiles (smooth tiles). It feels like there's far more friction between my fingers and stickers than there is between my fingers and tiles.

So now I stick with stickers. I really want to give a bright sticker set a go.

I'm sub-20, and though I don't use tiles on my primary cube, I have tiles on one that I can sub-20 on pretty easy.

I don't have any other cubes with tiles, though, because I like the bright stickers better for color recognition. I enjoy the feel, but I don't think it makes me faster or slower.

Leyan and I use tiles.
Not very far, but collecting data on it.

My competition cube has always had tiles (non-textured, which has better grip). For the type A, I think tiles add a very satisfying momentum (in terms of grip and distribution of cube weight) that is characteristic to few cubes.
But it seems to me that new cores are getting worse, though, because it's getting harder to replicate.

i use stickers because i like the cubesmith bright set.

also, i got tired of people asking why "this cube is textured"

they also looks cool when they start to tear on the edges :)
