Hey all!

My stickers on my cube are really bad and i think that i should buy new stickers (or tiles) from Cubesmith.

My question is which are better stickers or tiles?

Important things to me are that the cube stays well in my hands and i can get good grip on it.

And if tiles are better, which of them, textured or smooth ones?

Thanks for advice!

tiles lasts longer, i think thats the main difference, its all up to personal preference when choosing stickers/tiles, and i have just bought stickers, so i cant help you too much i bet :3

I prefer textured tiles to smooth. I find it really difficult to grip a smooth tiled cube when my hands are cold.

Textured tiles don't provide grip like you would think. They actually make the cube slip out of your hands... I don't know about smooth tiles. But I would just get the half bright sticker set, and then buy a bright blue side separately. The tiles are definitely not worth $5.

I like my tiles textured, and tiles dont peel, chip or wear out as quick, if you want your cube look neat for a long time, I reccomend tiles

Tiles, cause they last longuer. Textured or smooth there is no diffrence for the grip, only your personnal opinion. Smooth tiles are almost like stickers. And textured, are a little like the textured stickers that are putted on the QJ skewb.

don't be hard at him ;) anyway, half an hour after you said this someone else still answers, so it's kinda pointless...

I have ordered both the tiles and the stickers and I would get the stickers, they are cheaper, the colours are easier to distinguish and the white is like a bright white compared to the dullish white of the tiles. Also, you can get fluorescent stickers for about the same price without having the risk of messing them up (the ink on the fluorescent orange comes off if you stick it on and you peel it off) The stickers are vinyl; it does not have that clear plastic coating on the Rubik's brand stickers that peels off and the adhesive is strong so that the stickers don't come of easily. the stickers are very durable, not as durable as the tiles, but still durable. IMHO, the tiles are NOT worth it because of the dullness of the colours. Tiles are still very good though; they will not bend, scratch or come off and they can survive almost anything since they are Lexan.

im sorry, I just thought to give my opinion out, is there something wrong with that? I dont think I harmed anyone by answering an old topic...

I love how someone bumps an old topic that was asking a question that already got answered, someone complains about the bump, and then a bunch more people start answering as if the thread was posted newly today.
I find it amusing how often that happens on this site
