Wouldn't that be competition illegal because someone can determine was a certain cubie is without looking at it because he/she can feel it.

Why would you even want to do that? The only reason stickers are replaced in the first place are due to them wearing out or wanting to try a new color scheme. The second reason being a lot more rare than the first, and why would you want to put a sticker over another that's peeling off?
