Won't that make it hard to take off onces it's all chipped up and murdered looking?

I think the lighter melts the adhesive on the sticker, making it sticky again, so it will stay on longer. i'm not sure though

no, it doesn't make harder to take it off after it. I think it works because sticker is shrinking, but I am not sure also. BTW I don't recomend using it on stickers like Rubiks.com cube have (double stickers), but on almost every other it works well.

Another possible solution to the problem that you forgot to mention and which works amazingly well is to use a new sticker.

Stefan pls ;p I changed stickers on that cube one week ago, something like this will always happend, You can't change stickers every week ;d it is good for small problems like this, and the lifetime of stickers really increase!
