SS Competition Results
Ok, so I had an idea. In the Loopover thread, there were thoughts from several people of having a loopover competition, however, there is no way to have set scrambles and so there could be unfair. That aside, I think it won't matter that extremely much, especially for bigger ones like 4x4 and 5x5.

So, what I'm going to do, is host a monthly 16-person elimination bracket with 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5 Loopover. You may wonder, why do 2x2 (or even 3x3) with one-movers being very common? Well, I feel like it would still be a fun thing to add, basically to see who can be the luckiest lol. You can think of this like a "club" where we have monthly competitions. Only the top 16 people will be allowed in the club each month for each event (I will gladly change it to 32 if we have enough interest), and it will be a single-elimination bracket doing ao5s. The seeding will be based off best PB ao100 for 2x2 and 3x3, and best ao50 for 4x4 and 5x5. We will begin the competition for January on Monday, January 5. Each round will last one week. Qualifications for January begin now and will end on January 5. if you would like to be in the club, please put your best average (ao100 for 2x2 and 3x3, and ao50 for 4x4 and 5x5) and I will add you to the list. Also, between now and January 5, if you get faster, tell me and I'll update the list. When submitting your times, you must also submit a complete video of the 5 attempts (not 5 separate ones, one complete unedited clip). Let me know if you have any questions, hopefully this will be a fun thing!

5. @CubeLite 0:24.415

Anyone can submit, not just those who qualified (when we get more people it will revert back) and you also do not have to provide video evidence. Simply do 5 consecutive solves of the specific event, I'm trusting you to not scramble fish or redo bad solves. Enter the times here in these forms. Round 1 will be open for one week until January 12. Good luck!

This is just the second time that I've ever heard of Loopover and I was very interested in it. So I went on the website and tried it out - IMO very similar concepts to various stages in solving cubes. I first solved the first 4 rows and then did breaking and repairing of the last column's T piece to put the last row in order. Is this how other people would learn to solve this puzzle?
Here's my first ever time!
Also I'm probably gonna be last place on this leaderboard haha
im probably poop at this.png

Yes, that is essentially the method. A more efficient way of solving the first four layers is by doing ABCD, then using the right column to solve FGHI, KLMN, and PQRS. And then solving EJO, and using the slot at T to swap around the UVWX.

This sound like a nice idea, but I can see how some kids will just do A LOT of ao5s and then send the best one which isn't fair at all, but hopefully nobody does that

I'll come back for 4x4 when I get an ao50

Also, you could add another category, for the biggest NxN someone tried within the week/month, and it would be pretty easy to fact check that as you can just ask for a video with like the last part of the solve and then show the date when closing the recording

I might introduce bigger puzzles eventually, for now I’m gonna try to just get this started. And yes, I recognize that it would be very easy to cheat, and I’m basically just doing an honor system. If people want to cheat, they may “win” but they know that truly they don’t deserve it. I’m leaving it up to them in this case. I had the idea to try and make it more fair by enforcing video evidence with all 5 solves in a row, that way if you mess up, you can’t just get rid of it.
