The community gets rather suspicious in a hurry when a record solve (assuming we know it was recorded) doesn't get uploaded. Remember Lucas Etter's NAR average that was uploaded more than a month later? People were getting ready to start a lynch mob when there was nothing wrong with the average.

I remember that, Lucas knew about it too which probably delayed his decision on uploading the video or not

To all the people saying "He's blindfolded, you should be lenient". Just because you are wearing a blindfold does not mean you can just break regulations as you please.

Honestly LOL at this argument...

Obviously I'm not saying you can do whatever you want because you are blindfolded. What I'm trying to say is that since you are blindfolded we need to take that into account while writing and interpretting regulations...

I haven't read a single post where this was clearly not taken into account.
Of course it's more difficult to stop the timer in BLD events. Nobody said it's not. It's also more difficult to start/stop the timer in Feet. That's one of the challenges of these events.

I feel bad for Sreeram, but we shouldn't be lenient when this is equivalent to being unfair. Noah wrote that he lost some time because he was stopping the timer really carefully to avoid a time penalty or even a DNF. Do you think it would be fair to be lenient with competitors who obviously care less about it?

You also have the option of taking off the blindfold before stopping the timer, granted that you once you do, you don't touch the puzzle until the end of the attempt.
It is certainly possible and practical to ensure a proper timer stop during blindfolded events. I like Noah's procedure a lot; it reminds me of Stefan's timer stops during 2x2, but those were implemented for a different reason.

And basically get (almost) the same effect as getting a +2...

IMO timer stops shouldn't be that ridiculously harshly judged if you cant actually see the friggin timer.
But obviously others disagree and thats ok.

IMO it should be as much of "who can actually solve the cube fastest while blindfolded" as possible and not as much "who can stop the timer with correct (arbitarily defined) procedure" and IMO this is more of the latter than the former...

Cubing is also an ability to stop the timer fast and accurate. :) It is completely his fault and justifying his unfair behaviour just make no sense to me..
