Okay, I got 2 opposite ends solved yet whenever I try to solve the whole top face, I get 2 opposite ends unsolved. If I sound a bit unclear, I apologize but here are pictures of it:

I meant edges, I wrote ends instead by mistake. I apologize for that.
Anyway, I tried the parity algorithm and that backfired as well. Bah, I'll figure it out myself, but thanks for everyone's help!

No, you do the alg that Dan gave you. Basically what it's doing is it is swapping the U layer with the D layer and vice versa. Make sure youre doing both of the /s in the alg. A lot of people make the mistake of ignoring the first one.

Call it "edges" instead of "ends" and you'll be understood.

I hate being wrong.

I don't think you were wrong. It looks to me like the original poster wants to do an opposite edges swap on top, which the alg I gave does (it also swaps on the bottom layer, but he doesn't appear to want to solve that one yet). I don't know why Dan suggested a layer swap.

EDIT: ugh nevermind Mr. Pochmann, I misunderstood the point of your post. But I'll leave mine as it is :p . (How did I completely overlook the bold?)

Well yeah, I was right in the sense that *someone* (you) understood. I was just baffled by Weston and wanted to express that.

And... "he"? Have you seen those finger nails?

To be perfectly honest, when someone says "look at my sq1" I tend to look at the square-1 :p . I had a similar situation last night; interesting. We'll go with "she" then, and hope this isn't another gender crisis >.<
