Where should I improve next? I just learned a more efficient shape method and average around 7 seconds with it.

A few of things:

- Improve turning style. I recommend getting used to slice/anti-slice turning (that is, alternating direction of slice turn). However, you could always try Polish style.
- Solve white on top, don't switch half way through.
- Improve EP. I wholly recommend using adj-adj and a couple of parity algs. EP can easily be sub-10 this way.

Too many pauses, especially right at the beginning. And the recognition is pretty slow

Listen to that guy.

Why do you keep calling them OBLs? It's just edge separation/orientation.

probably because of this

Ya I called it OLL then when I saw that I called it OBL and now I start calling it EO.
Wait, you were calling it OBL instead of EO? I meant that the "corner orientation" step and the "edge orientation" step put together could be "orienting both layers". :p

I know that CO and EO put together is OBL. And at the time I posted I sort of forgot that they were 2 steps, and called it OBL. Since the corners are done so fast and intuitivly I don't consider the corners much of a step so therefore I only count the edges. So to me the only part of OBL is the edges, and I know how it can be confusing and I will make sure I'm clearer in the future.

- Slice / Anti-slice in some cases does not seem smooth to me (e.g. CW U-perm [/3,0/1,0/0,-3/...]).
- What is "Polish style"?
- How does keeping one color on top improve my solves? I do EPLL layer by layer, so where's the point?
I use opposite parity (UL <-> UR) and CW O-perm for my parities. Could you explain the adj-adj idea?
I think you saw it but you should read though my thread for some tips, it got me from about 50 secd down it about 35 in like 3 weeks, I thought the info was very helpful
http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19522

Also, do you know all CP and 5/7 EO [minus adj-opp and opp-adj], and what do you use for parity?
I definitely will have a look into the thread, probably tomorrow (it's 3 am here :s).
I do know all EO (though I sometimes mess up the adj-opp algorithms) and I know all 8 CP.
For the parities, I use opposite and O-perm.

Do you mean the pauses during shape? I sometimes still need to think what I am doing there..
Training recognition is just practice, right?

It might seem like its faster to solve the bottom layer then switch and solve the top layer. but if you use adj-adj and opp-opp you can do both at the same time which is a lot faster.

adj-adj = [-2.0] [3.0] [-1.-1] [-2.1] [2.0] (UB <-> UR) (DB <-> BR)

For double u perm what I do is put the solved side on the left adn do opp-opp then adj-adj.

hmm maybe now is a good time to switch to doing EPs that affect both layers? It's much, much more efficient. The idea is that you can usually use adj-adj (meaning the EP that swaps two adjacent edges on both layers) to reduce it to a simple case. I suggest you learn all the adj-opp combinations as a starter.

Not only that but the recognition overall is kinda slow. Also DO NOT flip over the square-1, it's just a really bad habit.

A lot of people found this helpful

You should learn the two "good" double U perms, they're so good. (and that's the EP that I got my 14 on :D)

I should really learn those and u perm-adjs

I knew that algorithm but didnt know what you mean ;)
I tried a few solves with adj-adj and it seems pretty inefficient or slow to me. I used this to fix double parity when there was just one swap on any side left for EP. I will keep training this method to see whether I can improve with it.

How do you mean combinations? I thought there is only one adj-opp EP?
(1,0) / (0,-1) / (0,-3) / (5,0) / (-5,0) / (0,3) / (0,1) / (5,0)
