If you set your mind to it and practice yes ,sure 40 seconds is possible, you would need talent to get sub 25 seconds

With dedication and hardwork -no real talent- I think 30 seconds is possible for any speedcuber

I find it really hard to do anything with only one hand. I guess it comes with practice, but it just feels very uncomfortable. I think the problem is the size of the cube. Has anyone tried OH with those mini diansheng cubes?

Cubing is a very new sport. I firmly believe that anyone can become world class with dedication in any event.

OH cubing is especially good for practice because it's (in my opinion, at least) relatively easy to do while walking. I learned OH over last summer mostly while walking to and from work and the grocery store.

To get good, all you need is to look up videos of finger tricks, practice a ton, and keep your eyes open for your own finger tricks.

Just hold the cube with only your thumb, middle, and ring fingers. Then your index and pinky fingers are free to make moves of R and U (if left hand) or L and U (if right hand). Just go from there.

To be good at one-handed you need a good cube. It is okay if it pops once in a while, the important thing is that it is smooth and turns with very little force. If your normal cube isn't easy to turn, you should get a DIY from cube4you.

LOL, Sport... :p
What do you think the easiest OH PLL's are, my friend is too lazy and I want to get him into OH cubing :p

People need a tutorial to solve OH now?
Wasn't it just hold the cube with one hand and figure out the best way to turn?

That's the way it used to be. Now everyone needs tutorials. That's why there are many people who are not good at intuitively solving puzzles. Seriously, who needs a tutorial for one-handed? It's pitiful. And look up videos of fingertricks? I mean, really...why not just learn your own so that you are comfortable when solving. I mean, you can practice other peoples if they really work for you, but if you hate them but use them....that's just plain stupid.

If you want to talk about using things that don't fit for you just because they're in a tutorial, ask Swordsman Kirby about Chinese cubers. According to him there are like two sets of LL algs, and everyone learns EXACTLY one set of algs, not even choosing what's good for them, just learning a specific alg for each case. Talk about not being able to use intuition...

But yeah, nobody should need a tutorial to start OHing. Just try it. I averaged two minutes the first day I tried and just kept practicing from there. If you're having trouble with a specific thing it's useful to check how other people do it, but you don't need a tutorial for starting out.
