SpeakCuba’s progression thread thing

I finally got a new 4x4 PB. Been chasing this for about 2-3(maybe even more) months. Nearly +2ed out of it, but thankfully I didn't.

Up until this week I never had a PB where I +2ed. Well...

Got a PB 4x4 single of 46xx.... +2. the cube locked up on the last U turn and I got a +2. Still PB though.

And now probably the saddest thing. I average mid 9 on 3x3, so my PB of 8.00 is not great. Just got a 7.88... I got a PLL skip. +2. I think I did U2 (which solved the cube), and then U'. So sad, my first sub-8 and it's a plus 2.

On to the next one. I'll get it soon.

Got another PB fail; 8.33, locked up on OLL. But hey, at least it means I’m improving!

Finally got a 3BLD Ao100. I don’t practice nearly as much as I want or should, but I only got 5/100 successes. So only a 5% success rate. It would be more like a 20%+ success rate, but I got a LOT of solved where I DNFed by 1 corner or edge. or both.

Finally!

This scramble is perhaps the best I have ever gotten. All 3 pairs were made for me, one of which was part of an X-Cross, and the 4th set up into a 3 mover. I finally got my sub-8 single. (7.80). I tried down solving it but all I could get it to was 7.21. I'll try again when I am not so nervous/excited. Here is how I solved it. (Scramble yellow top, green front if you want white cross). Crazy thing is that I slightly hesitated on my 3rd cross edge, and ever so slightly hesitated on OLL as well, so with no mistakes at all, it could have been low7/sub-7.

Could have been better though, so I am looking forward to beating this!

Ur solution was insane on this I would have never thought of inserted the cross edge like that. But with ZBLL could have been low7.

Wow, really unexpected but I finally did it! Sub-2 Ao5 for 2x2, super happy. These scrambles were super good, I managed to 1-Look 3/5, nearly 4. Quite happy with that! I tried one looking the last solve but I got too confused; I though I would get an Anti-Sune CLL case but instead got a Pi case, so there was a bit of wasted solve time there adjusting to the different case. Luckily it was the easiest Pi case, so I got a great average!

I would have done the lefty OLL, but it changes your gperm into an rperm with the headlights facing (one of the few non-EPLL algs I'm sub 1 on)
welcome to the 7 gang too!

Pretty decent 3x3 average!

Yes, Rb perm. Personally, I prefer that G-perm, it flows much better and it is quite fast for me. I used to dislike it, but now that I have much better fingertricks, it is much more fast and enjoyable. ;)
I gave up trying to learn how to fingertrick G-perms, I have spent a good chunk of my cubing life trying, so I just threw the towel in

I figured them out on my own after some time. If you know how to do push U and D moves, with your index and ring finger, respectively, then eventually you’ll find better finger tricks for them.

its not one of my slowest, nor is it my fastest, I just hate the regrips for any G-perm
Relatable, I used to as well. To be clear I still despise the Gb perm, I hate that one, but I love the other G-perms. Try to see if you can do them regripless and if you can come up with new ways to fingertrick them. (Also make sure you’re using good algs). This is how I’ve come up with better ways to execute them, by just experimenting.
