Just give myself an hour to do a yellow cross-only 3*3 ao100 (I can do non-white cross solves, but I doesn’t actually time them seriously, I think I only did yellow cross in less than 100 solves [almost all of them are single, maybe 1~5 ao5] and the other 4 colors combine maybe less than 15):

2 PB 3*3 ao5 in less than 36hr yooooo (and PB & first sub 11 mo3 from my 1~3 solve in 11.721, 11.329=>10.809)

Got 11.721 just 10 mins ago, my 2&3 (or 3&4) sub 12 avg.

I usually do some warmup solves in “practice” session, then change to 3*3 session (or sometimes just stick with it).

Gave myself a daily goal—get a sub 15 avg (all of the five solves should be done in the same day) since July (or August? or even earlier?) , now I usually can done that in the first 25 solves (or less, like my PB avg is the 14th~18th solve in today), but I don’t want to make it harder at least for now (like sub 14.5 avg or sub 15 ao12), I think maybe I’ll not cubing that much when I have a job, I graduate from college(*) or I’m just too busy at some moments , and I set this goal which I can do it in minutes just want to maintain my speed in the future while less cubing.

*: Resit the GSAT (like SAT in US, a college admission exam in Taiwan), I need to read social subjects this time (Geography, History and Civics & Society, I read natural subjects [Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Earth science] last time), and I have 3 months to absorb all of them (not even mention Chinese, English & Math…)

Talk about sub 15, perhaps I’ll do some statistics to find out how many sub 15 solves I get in a range of time (maybe a week, in Feb or right after I finish the GSAT, which is Jan 20?), I don’t think I’m sub 15 even though I have sub 15 ao1000 in my 3*3 session (but I think I’m sub 20) and I think I said it before (still get some 16 or 17s), and maybe it’ll change my mind?

P.S. While I’m typing this, I find out it’s almost 1.5 hr after my PB avg, 01:30 am, great time to sleep.

2.5 months break after the Asian champ until my GSAT end in Jan 20, need to study hard now, won’t post or comment anything here, but I’ll come up several times each week (maybe click some like buttons) to make sure I doesn’t missed too much things.

Hope to get good results. Score will released in Feb 25.

I need luck lol.

Hi.

GSAT => not as bad as I thought

Am I good enough for “sub 15”? => well….

Here’s the daily statistics I did in the past 2 weeks (Jan 20~Feb 2):

Overall: (the percentage of sub 15)

1/20: 74/110 (67.3%)
1/21: 68/100 (68.0%)
1/22: 57/100 (57.0%)
1/23: 65/100 (65.0%)
1/24: 59/100 (59.0%)
1/25: 98/144 (68.1%)
1/26: 70/100 (70.0%)
1/27: 130/220 (59.1%)
1/28: 67/100 (67.0%)
1/29: 84/130 (64.6%)
1/30: 61/100 (61.0%)
1/31: 75/120 (62.5%)
2/1: 160/200 (80.0%)
2/2: 61/100 (61.0%)

Total: 1129/1824 (61.9%)

I would say it’s good enough (at least for me) for the “sub 15”.

Also I got some nice results, including ao25 PB (12.396), ao12 PB (11.619), PB3+PB2 avg (11.012+10.927, 0.004 off PB & 10.295 BPA for the PB2).

Scrambled some mega, 3*3OH, and sq-1 this week (for the Mini Guildford actually), I rarely solve them.

Sq-1: Last solve was 5 months ago. (300 solves in the session)

Mega: Last solve was 1.5 yrs ago, all the top 10 singles were in 2022 and 2023 (6~7 out of those were from the weekly comp), just hate to scramble it. (66 solves)

Good news:
1. PB2+PB4 mega single (1:55+1:59) in Feb 5, PB2 mega avg (2:17.341).

2. PB2~6 OH single (22.753~23.277), PB avg & first sub 30.00 ao12 (27.703+29.646) today.

3. Do Mini Guildford after I relearn the sq-1 two days ago, and get my first sub 7:30 (2*2: 6.604, 3*3: 16.249, 4*4: 54.014, 5*5: 1:39.281, 3*3OH: 43.296, pyra: 6.450, skews: 12.933, clock: 11.349, sq-1: 50.530, mega: 2:19.512, total: 7:20.218, PB by 11.383 sec), definitely has some room for improvement, but since I easily lose concentration for these kinds of long-time solving (sometimes I’ll forget I’m solving), I think maybe I’ll not do Mini too often. (And ofc scrambling is too boring for me)

Bad news:
Did 152 3*3 OH solves in today bc my feeling is good at that time (99 solves from 15:25~16:56, then 53 solves from 18:29~19:16. In comparison, I did 404 solves in last year), and my right thumb & forearm is sore af for 2.5hrs (since maybe 22:00), which is a thing I’ve never felt before, guess this is the cuber’s thumb?

Back to this thread after 3 months, I will get into a nice college in Sep, break some PBs including some of my oldest one (skewb avg [Feb 2022] and squan avg [Oct 2023]), and I have some new crazy goals now.

3×3 PB avg: 10.923 => 10.281 (Aug 11)

Also first sub 10 mo3 (9.693) for the first 3 solves.

Square-1 PB avg: 44.682 => 29.521 (Aug 9)
(22.937), (44.170), 26.704, 31.155, 30.704

Clock PB avg: 5.618 => 5.222 (Jun 24)

5.537+15.851+44.281+1:35.295

2~6 relay: 6:15.254 => 6:12.486 (Apr 7)
6.602+17.517+1:01.630+1:30.946+3:15.791

Still waiting for my first sub 10 3×3 avg while not learning anything 😎.

Maybe (just maybe) less cubing after I enter the uni, need to study and I may want to pick a minor which means study harder, also need to dealing with my "potentially ADHD/ASD" with the psychiatrist and psychologist in Oct or Nov, to determine whether I really have (at least) one of those, so yeah... a little bit update in here, need to eat breakfast now.

(Later will update these new PBs in my "accomplishments")

👍

Just rent a room for the college, and I moved into here yesterday, after I turned my cube for 5~15 mins, I don’t think my room has a good soundproof (I can’t hear my neighbors’ voices, and no one complains about hearing the cubing sound [at least for now, I only turn 2*2 and 3*3 btw, they’ll definitely hear the noises if I scramble the clock lol], this is just my personal thought because I think my cubing sounds it’s pretty loud), so sadly, I think I’ll take a break from cubing until the winter/summer vacation which I can go back to home, and keep doing this until I graduate.

It’s a little bit weird for me, not only it’s (maybe) the first time I take a break from cubing, but it’s not because I’m tired of it or the burnout, it’s because of … “this”.

Maybe I’ll still do a handful of low tps 3*3 solves (3~4 tps, just make sure no corner-cutting or fast turning sounds) in weekends, try to not forget algs while not bothering others, also some virtual cube solves (csTimer) sounds nice.

I don’t know would I post anything before 2026, I found some interesting mind sports during the MSO (held in London this year, ended a week ago), so maybe I’ll learn or even post something about it? (I can post some non-cubing things in here right?)

Just a little break I guess.
Bye guys.
