that sounds fun. tell me if you want some tips painting (I was into cosplay), and if you are going for a milky way look, make sure you splatter some red paint on it. I recommend using a toothbrush, applying some acrylic paint to the toothbrush and then running your finger across the brush to flick some paint onto the cube. Makes for an interstellar look, but make sure you practice.

I'm using a color shifting paint dubbed "Purple Sunrise".
I probably won't do splatter with other colors, but for right now it's all up in the air

make sure to clear coat once your done. you don't want to be touching paint all the time as there could be heavy metals in the paint. A furniture grade clear coat is safe for humans.

I'm using testors paint, it shouldn't be too bad.

Update: Second layer of color shift applied, 2 coats of clear coat up next. The clear coat almost adds a UV coated kind of grip to the plastic which is super cool

yeah, the clear coat does add a uv coat feel, but it doesn't last too long. also, you don't want that inside you cube. trust me. 3d printed cube almost bit the dust becuz I wasn't thinking and gassed the internals.

It won't be on the internals at all. I took off all the caps if the pieces and that's what I'm painting.

This is the style I'm going for on all the pieces (outside)

your paint looks a bit gritty. if it is too sandy looking and you don't like it. consider soaking the paint in warm water. not boiling but quite warm.
That might be caused also by the overcoat. The color shift is basically just glitter
It looks very good tho. the name suits it perfectly. gan 14 limited has a competitor.
Lol yeah.... except this is a one-off cube haha
