Well, if anyone here saw the texas cubing thread, just the same thing, but for southern California...

To start:

I'm a cuber in Calabasas just starting to learn F2L and an average of 45.xx

Whenever there's a competition in your area, you'll receive an e-mail about it, so that serves as a handy reminder.

Recommendation: We just let this thread flourish and serve it's original purpose, but advise against more threads like these showing up to prevent the WCA board being flooded with them.

I like that idea, but of course I'm biased.

Good thing you specified this to include just part of your state then.

CubingUSA was designed to connect people to other cubers and be persisted over a long period of time, rather than just how long a thread was active on a single forum. People in Arizona used it to find people and start a meetup.

The reason CubingUSA doesn't have a forum is I don't think that people need yet another forum to check. Speedsolving should be used if you want to further communicate. But I would expect that to be something like the Arizona competition, where they used CubingUSA to contact a few people, and then used twistypuzzles.com to announce the meetup and gather more participants.

As for not checking your e-mail all the time, what's up with that?
