Time to learn his method!!!!!!
Srsly tho, his 27 alg method seems interesting. The other parts seem similar to Sarah's method. Is his method well known? I don't know much about Skewb; just got mine in the mail Yesterday. I went to his site but I can't read Japanese. All I know is that this スキューブ says skewb =P
I doubted that this method can be that fast, but now I know I was wrong. It looks like he know only 27 algos from his website, because he always place solved center at BL position. After learning some mirrors it could be really fast. But recognition is hard anyway (his 5th solve)![]()
Well done Hideki, congrats!
Hideki said he couldn't sleep last night and he was not in good condition, especially in Final. WR was set in the 1st round.
Almost all the scrambles (written in description of his youtube page) were normal for him. There was no easy scramble.
The name of his method (27 algorithms method) is derived from the number of algorithms and his last name (in Japanese, 2 can be read NI and 7 can be read NA, and they are united as NI-I-NA). The significant advantage of the method is that 1) low number of turns needed to solve, and 2) there are only two steps (1-look during inspection, and just more 1-look during solve).
He hopes his method becomes famous.![]()
If you can recognize the state of the 2nd step during inspection completely, yes it is possible. Thanks, that is quite interesting how that comes together. In the case that his method is 2 steps. Would it be possible to 1-look the solve using it? Like how it is done on 2x2?
Yes, but Hideki knows multiple algorithms for some states.I am interested in looking into his method further. Are the 27 algs all you need when you have one face solved on the bottom and with opposite center on top?
That is Beverly Skewb (licensed product of Meffert's Skewb, sold in Japan)'s color scheme, not the so-called Japanese color scheme. Also is he saying this is the Japanese skewb colour scheme?
青 ― 緑 Blue opposite green
ピンク ― 濃オレンジ pink opposite dark orange
黄 ― 淡オレンジ yellow opposite light orange
Seems so random.
