Should I use a custom F2l Cube?

Through reading over the forums, I found that a lot of people use cubes with f2l stickers only, to help them with f2l practice.

I'm new to f2l, and I can do it in roughly 30 seconds (including cross) and I was wondering if those f2l cubes are a help or not. Any comments are appreciated, thanks!

I have the same questions, i was about to buy 2 guanlongs yesterday but i dont know if its really worth it (8 dollars is sooo much money)

I have never tried that idea, but I doubt it will help. What I imagine will happen is you don't know how to adapt to a normal cube after training on this F2L cube for a while. You can't use if you want to be color neutral or even just yellow/white neutral. Also you don't get to practice the LL each time you solve.

If you consider buying a cube just to practice F2L i dont think not being able to do LL will bother you. And instead of buying one cube and then take of some stickers you can buy two of the same and then take away all stickers from one. Then you can have a F2L cube, a cross cube a LSE cube or whatever you want.

The problem with doing that is the fact that when you start solving a normal cube, it will be strange to have all these other stickers that weren't normally there before.

I did this when I was learning and definitely found it useful. It helps with recognising the cases, and also with seeing how other pieces move around as you solve.

However, I would say don't persist with it too long, or don't do it exclusively, because it's true that you do need to get used to finding those cases with the LL stickers there too.
