Should I need to regrip when doing "Sune" from Petrus method?

I'm a very new cuber, having had my cube less than a week, so I have lots of questions. I have worked from this page, which shows a level by level beginner approach.

To improve from here, I have been practicing making the cross and doing F2L with the cross on the bottom rather than top. In addition I have been learning all the base Petrus LL algorithms (sune, rune, bruno, denzel etc... not the combinations, or where to use them yet.).

I figure I should slow down a bit and concentrate on retraining my fingers, so I don't move the cube about so much. In this regard, to execute a Sune, should I need to regrip the cube at any point or can I do it all in one?

I do Sune with the cube oriented such that the moves are: R U R' U R U2 R' - doing with twisting with my right hand (simply as the first tutorial taught the basic moves from this position).

I do R U R', then regrip to move my hand like I had done another R, so I can then U R, regrip like I had done another R', do the final U2 R', then readjust my grip after.

Having written it down, that seems like a lot of regrips! Is there a better way?

Also, should I be concentrating on better physical skill before learning these alogrithms, or continue learning the 2 in parallel?

I dont regrip when doing Sune.
you should work on it on your own and customize it for your hands (creating so-called Finger Tricks). The same goes for all other algortihms.

I perform Sune as follows:

Thumb on F face. All others on B Face (pinkies on D face-ish). (same for both hands)
all R moves by turning that face with the wrist. First U with thumb, second with pointer. then I do U2 counter clockwise by bushing the first with thumb and follow thru by pulling with left pointer.

good luck! Sune is a killer alg! I can get it sub-1 sec on good days

btw. the physical skills (+speed) comes naturally, in time. Dont worry too much about that for now
Learn algorithms as you want, it varies quite a bit how fast people can memorize them
what I did was just learning those that "got in my way" too often..

Now that I have high-speed with my built in camera, I can make vids and upload them easily. So I just made a little slow vid of the sune and antisune, check it out below (still processing as I post, should work soon):

Hmm, I do Sune with roughly the same grip but in the other direction with RUR'URU2R'

Ooooooooooh... My Sune is slow but my Anti-Sune is twice as fast :-o Ima use that primarily instead of Sune..... my method of solving is recursive and primitive >.<

Thanks for your input everyone - the video is especially useful (and appreciated - thanks).

doubleyou - ok, noted about the speed coming naturally. I'll keep learning the algs and will see what happens to my speed.

I am going to try practicing a bit with everyones tips and see how I do. I'll let you know!
