Should I buy a new cube?

Hey guys i've just got a wee question for you to give your opinions on.

I've done the stuuuupud thing and sprayed the core of my 3x3x3 cube with silicone spray and it's mucked up the springs so they now make horrendous noises whenever i turn the cube. I can't purchase a new cube as i live in New Zealand which for some reason has hardly any stores that let alone sell a rubik's brand. So what can i do to fix the springs? or will the noise stop over time if i just keep using it?

Silicone spray shouldn't do that... Are you sure it's silicone?

I'd disassemble it and clean it out, if you can't get a new one.

I have that on my yellow face of the cube. As long as it turns fine, you should keep it.

lol thanks i'll check it out as my frustration with the warehouse has met it's max.
