Not sure if it's because I modded it incorrectly or not but after doing this mod, I noticed tons and tons of popping and locking, especially with the center pieces. The cubees seem to be very lose however I did very minimal modding to the cube. Inner layers- no, all layers turn significantly worse than they did out of the box. Turning inner layers feels as if they are always catching on something. This was my first time modding a cube so it may have just been my mistake, but has anyone experienced this?

There are a few possibilities, which can be narrowed down by doing a bunch more solves. it may just be that your minimal mod left certain places rougher than they would otherwise be, making the turning worse. If so, doing a bunch of solves should help fix that. If not, you may have messed up while modding.

I recently did the Konsta and Florian mods to my Shengshou 4x4 and they definitely improved the turning. It's possible you modded the pieces too much making them unstable. I went for the conservative approach which seemed to work quite well.
