I once tried to put sand in a rubik's storebought and it improved it a little.
Since Eastsheen 2x2s aren't DIYs, (?) is is ok to put sand in there like memyselfandpi put sand in his gigaminx?

I don't want to risk breaking my cube!

As the mechanism is so different to the 3x3, I don't think it would be a good idea. The 3x3 has floating parts held together by the springs in the core so sand is said to make these parts smoother when they slide past each other. The ES doesn't really have these types of parts.

Try it and tell us how it goes.

ES 2x2's are ridiculously fast already. Why would you think of sanding it?

because mine got slow.
it got a tiny bit of sand in it when i threw it against trees, so i was wondering
"what happens if i just sand the whole thing?"

Why the hell did you throw it at a tree

It loosens it. I drop my 4x4s on the ground, and I got a nice 2x2 from Rowe that he ran over with is car. WARNING: The car thing will cause it to explode, most likely breaking pieces.(it did in this case, but Rowe had a large collection of spare parts already) Although it certainly was effective, it's not a highly recommended method of improving your cube.

@hyunchoi: Just break it in.
