Rutgers Spring 07

No, I sucked and didn't do anything at all that day ...

Except place 3rd for 5x5 speed. There were some really impressive 3x3 bld times and 3x3 averages, in my humble opinion.

Anthony Hsu shocked me!
2:30 3x3 BLD

One cubist had a 14.xx average winning the competition!

Personally, I was really looking forward to seeing the bigger cubes bld; it's too bad you DNFed, because that would've been pretty cool to see (and the 8 cubes at once, too). Ah well. I had a really awful day cubing wise: I got very nervous, screwed up my G perm algs and ended up executing them as a corner cycle and an edge cycle (so I ended up executing 3 algs for PLL, because did a screwed up G perm alg that ended up doing absolutely nothing) on two solves, popped and somehow or another DNFed my second solve, etc. The two times I screwed up PLL, I got around 45 and 50 something seconds; the other two, I got in the thirties. My final average was like 45 seconds, even though I average much faster than that at home.

Then the 4x4 got cancelled, which was the only other event that I entered besdies 3x3 :( I did get two talk with some pretty fast cubers, though, and it was pretty fun. I also got a picture of a cup/3x3x5/pyraminx tower:

In the middle of the green triangle is the 3x3x5, and on the very top is the pyraminx.

I also bought a Magic from someone after the tournament was over (I was also going to buy a 5x5, but he sold out before I could get another one :( ), and since then my PB on Magic has gone from non-existant to 2.51

Now I'm hoping to go to either Trumbull (although a date and location would be nice *hint* *hint* ) or another competition soon after. Hopefully, I'll be able to redeem myself after my disastrous performance yesterday <_<

I unfortunately will not attend this one, but I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone does there! Maybe dbeyer will get a successful BLD this time, neh? :P
