Rubik's upgrading storebought cubes?

you guys don't have any idea what a "godbought" is.
and NO, we just figured out a way of how to get one out of that gigantic pile and it works all the time.

There is no luck involved at all!

Good for you...

But why don't you just get a GuHong or a Lingyun(make it TIGHT!) which are cheaper and better than even the best store-bought.
The whole construction and design of a store cube is based on stability and (child)safety. They were never designed to be speedcubes, whereas DIYs are. Although I must admit it is a romantic thought; using the almost original cube design for winning competitions.
Just seems like a waste of time and effort looking for good store cubes when there's stuff out there that we know will be good nearly every time....

I still use a rubik's sometimes. I like mine. I actually found that I can make a hybrid with my F-II, and rubik's corners. It actually seems to turn fairly well, until it pops. I can do the Z-Permutation about 0.1 seconds faster with it than a plain F-II though.

Also, I like the cubes that are stiff out of the box. I think they have more potential.

I don't really even like F(II)'s. Mine locks up a bit too much. My store bought can cut just about 1 piece (a hair less) and is really fast. But it's still not as good as my other DIY cubes... Although I am going to be doing a mod by cutting the core and replacing it with a Cube4You core, screw, and spring setup.

my friend just bought a storebought 3x3x3. It also seemed lubed, but everything was dry. I'm not joking when I say that it is almost as fast at turning as my guhong, just without the cornercutting.
