Rubik's UFOs that won't twist!

Hi there,
I ordered a transparent green Rubik's UFO with a cool stand from Hong Kong. It's wedges would flip just fine but the top and bottom wouldn't twist/spin no matter how hard I tried. I contacted the merchant and he graciously sent me another one. It just arrived and has the exact same problem. These came in a retail box but with no instructions. I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong. Do these require super human strength to twist? Is there a trick I don't know about? Were these known to have a problem spinning/twisting? Any help appreciated.

Yeah, unfortunately it's a known problem for the Rubik's UFO puzzle. It's really easy to get the other layers to slightly misalign and prevent the top/bottom from rotating. All I can say is, try to get some lube in there, and hopefully it'll help a bit.
