I've been getting bored of OH recently, and so I decided to mix things up and try Roux for OH. This was probably one of my best cubing decisions I've ever made. Two weeks have passed since I switched to Roux for OH, and I am already getting similar times to that with CFOP for OH. My enthusiasm for OH has been never greater.
CFOP for two handed solving is good. CFOP is relatively inefficient, but it is mostly R U moves, which allows for very high TPS. Also lookahead is very easy with CFOP. But for OH you don't have nearly as high TPS as with two handed solving, which means efficiency is important. This is why Roux shines for OH. Roux is super efficient. It's true that lookahead is worse with Roux, and Roux requires more thinking, but the nice thing is that for OH you turn more slowly, which allows more time for thinking/lookahead.
I think the main reason why most people are skeptical of Roux for OH is because of the M moves. Let me make this clear: M moves for OH are easier than you think.
In this thread I would like to hear your thoughts on Roux for OH.
