Qiyi thunderclap center issue

When I corner cut on my thunderclap the entire red center and every piece on that layer explodes, it doesn't even look like there is a screw in the center, just a smooth screw, no ridges. Completely smooth

You might have to buy a new screw, cause that's the only way you're going to fix that problem.

thats a stripped screw. replace it. thecubicle.us has replacement hardware sets.

Or maybe you can glue the screw to the core (not recommended).

The Thunderclap has a ridge on it so it's part of the mechanism iirc so I suppose this kind of unusual explosion is kind of inevitable. The smooth headed screw sounds an odd choice. Mine is on it's way from China.

I think it might be the core, does the screw come out from the core? The thunder clap has a strong anti-pop mechanism so this should not happen.
