[NAR] Pyraminx 3.68 single Anthony Brooks (+ 12.38 3x3 avg, 9.69 single)

EDIT: No one gave any information about the scramble to any competitors. No one had solved the puzzle with this scramble as this was the first scramble for the 2nd group of people. There were easy scrambles in the first group and I myself was shocked at the this scramble. I was judging when I saw the scramble but hadn't spoken to Anthony about it at all, I wasn't even his judge.

No information about the scramble was given to anyone, and Anthony was laughing because of jokes about easy scrambles.

Sorry for any confusion.

"You guys were right" is a concerning statement. I hope nobody told Anthony or anyone else anything meaningful about the scramble (other than that it was easy). It's not Anthony's fault that someone told him something, I just mention this because it happens far too often in tournaments and people really need to be made aware of it because it can be a competitive advantage for some people. Really, all the scrambles should not be discussed until the round is completely finished.

From the WCA Regulations:

"7h3) Competitors in the competitors area must not communicate to each other about the scrambled positions of the puzzles for the round in progress"

Just so this post isn't totally a downer, congratulations on the great average and singles, Anthony! I don't mean to hijack this thread in which your accomplishments are being appreciated.

I totally agree with you Kian. It's something that happens much too often. However, in this situation that was not really the case. Pyraminx was broken up into two groups and I happened to be in the second. No one had solved yet, I was the first up so I did not know anything about the solve. I was referring to something Weston had said. I scrambled for the first group and when it was over I told them the scrambles were really easy and they agreed. Then they told me that I might get lucky and have even easier scrambles. As soon as I started inspecting and saw an easy double x cross, I started laughing and said "You guys were right."

However, the issue you brought up is definitely something that occurs frequently and should be minimized. Thanks for pointing that out though. :)
