I've heard somewhere that PuzzleProz uses Lemon Pledge for a lube. I have no experience with PuzzleProz (or LP since I never clean :fp), but I'm looking into buying a type A DYI or something from them. I just thought it was interesting that Lemon Pledge could be used as a lube. Maybe it's time to try an alternative lube for my cubes...can anyone confirm or contradict this rumor?

*Goes to check cupboard for Lemon Pledge*

As far as I know, this practice started in the 80's because it was a widely available product that happened to contain the magic lubing ingredient, silicone. I don't believe that PuzzleProz uses 'Lemon Pledge' but their own silicone based lubricant.

I purchased a few puzzles from them last fall, and from what I could tell the lube that was included seemed to be identical to the Rubik's brand lube (right down to the syringe) that comes inside their diy kits.

The Puzzleproz lube has been almost certainly confirmed as floor polish. It is silicone based, and I'm almost positive that it isn't lemon pledge.

Rubiks.com's cube lube came with a little piece of paper that said if you swallow any you should call Johnson and Johnson's poison hotline and mention Shine Up.

Regular Shine Up was discontinued. :( they sell a lemon scented version now.
I was abe to score 2 gallons of regular at a cleaning supply place. I bought all they had. It's great stuff.

well, the "Rubik's cube lube" is my favorite lube (I really hate CRC...)

I'd say it works fairly well. I'm really thinkin' of getting like 3 spray bottles of this.
Thanks for telling me what it is, guys.
