Hello,
I am a beginning SpeedCuber. By beginning, I mean a 10 year old that gets a sub 45 as an average. I have decided to start a project. It will be difficult and needs the world's help. What I mean by this is I am asking everyone who is reading this to help my friend and I help make the cube the world's #1 toy again. Our school is already fascinated with us and want to solve it like us too. I would love it if our world would be the same. Right now, the SpeedCubing Community (SCC) is only worrying about how fast they go. I don't blame you at all, I wish to go fast too, but I think this is why the Rubik's Cube's is not as famous or as selling as it used to be. So I am asking a favor to everyone, help me with my project. I have some little things you can do from now on to help if your interested. Be sure to tell me if you have anymore little things to add to the list so more people can see it. (Ill give you credit!)

1. Go to the public with a cube and solve it publicly. Maybe even make a crowd.

2. Let people try to solve your cubes, give them hints and confidence.

3. Influence people to buy more Rubik's Cubes.

4. Let people touch your cubes and scramble and attempt to solve them.

5. Show them other cubes like a megaminx or a pyraminx or what else you can think of.

Well, I hope later in the future many more people view this topic and I expand it with your ideas. Remember, please comment or PM me if you have any questions or ideas. Thank you

I got phone numbers from seven girls on a party boat after performance for solving a 3x3. (New York performance! :D)

I think I already fulfilled my duties.

I get all the ladies due to cubing, I don't have to chase the booty, the booty chases me.

And in response to the OP, the Rubik's cube is the most popular puzzle out there. Something like 350 million have been sold, which is more than the population of the entire United States. And most people don't even know that people solve them for speed either.

Honestly, I think some things are just a little too ambitious, including this. If you want the "worlds" help, I'm not sure that a forum with a few thousand (fact check?) members will really do much good. Not trying to put you down or anything, it's just that most of these things you're talking about here have already been discussed at length and most people already do the stuff you listed.

I think most of us DO solve in public (because we have to go into public sometimes, and instead of staring at our phones like most of the rest of the world, we play with our cubes to pass the time). I also think most of us are willing to show people our cubes if they are curious. I definitely don't get mad if someone wants to see my cube.

I definitely solve is public all the time. In class all the time, in line for fast food, grocery store when shopping lol.
I have given out my cube several times. One time at Future Shop, one of the employees ask to solves it and did in about 5 minutes while I was looking at stuff; he knew the beginner's method. He said he learned it when he was a kid. Thought it was pretty cool that he remember after so long.

@goodatthis
Your right, my local walmart has been sold out of rubiks cubes because of me and my friend. I just really wish that I could do somthing so that happens everywhere. Thank you for your help. As you can see, I am a newbie...

At swim competitions, I attract people when I solve the cube right before my events and then they get distracted, and then I have less competition. :p

I'm a show off so I solve mine whilst cycling home from school, with no hands. It's not very busy but those who do see me seem to be fascinated! Just doing my bit, I guess.
