Hi!
I am currently doing CFOP at between 30-50 seconds.
I have learned "some" algorithms for all steps. I do intuitive F2L, and have started learning some F2L algs.
I am using Cubestation from GAN. ANd that gives me some stats per solve.
I noticed that I compared to my opponents have a "low" step count. Namely, I do 80-90 "steps" per solve. With a TPS of ~2.
What this hints at me is that I have bad lookahead and recognition, but decent algorithm selection.
Which leads me to two questions:
1) Does my conclusion make sense, I am lacking in lookahead and recognition?
2) Should I postpone learning additional algorithms, as that would primarily reduce step count which is not likely to be my bottleneck?
An argument for not doing this is that recognition and lookahead will also be improved while learning new algorithms, and even if it is not my current blocker, it could be better long term to keep up learning new F2L cases while I work on my recognition and lookahead.
Do you have any recommendations or reflections to share?
