He's the best in the world at it which is why he mains it and because he is significantly better
than anyone else that proves that it isn't entirely luck based either. You could say the same thing about events like pyraminx, skewb, and FMC.

You get to a point where all 2x2 is is grinding, hoping for a scramble with less moves than your last PB.
You learn to 1 look, learn all these sets, but essentially, you are just hoping your luck gives you a 4-mover.
