Popular cubes?

So with christmas around the corner I figured I'd wish for a few cubes. Right know I only have an F-II and it's wroking fine bt I still wonna try out some other ones.

So if anyone could list 2-3 cubes that are "in" right know or are standard good DYI cubes that'd be great. Links or a name of a good website where I can find them would be quite apreciated. Thank you

anyway, most people seem to like the Dayan Guhong, Alpha 5 (AV), and the Dayan Lingyun. You might not be able to find a Lingyun anywhere though. I suggest getting them off of Lightake.

Unless you're in China I doubt you'll get an order from LighTake by Xmas.

Dayan Guhong, Haiyan Memory, and Ghosthand II are good cubes besides the F-II. If you can't afford a Haiyan Memory then just get an AV and modify it by sanding down the corners to decrease lock-ups and increase corner cutting.


EDIT: Also, where do you live? If you give me the country I could give you a good store in your area so that you could get your order before Christmas.

I live in Sweden. But most sites offer like a 2 week option don't they? that should get here just in time

I don't think the quick shipping will help get a package out of china within 3 weeks.

These sites are located in the USA and only these sites that I came across give a time frame for international shipping. The first link says 6-10 business days and the second says 7-10 business days. These are both good stores, however the first one has been around longer than the second.

Other sites such as Lightake.com and Cube4you.com are located in China and probably won't make it before Christmas.

Edit: BTW the first link does offer priority shipping, but I'm not sure if that is for domestic or international orders.

Thanks. Speedcubeshop looked really promising but almost every cube listed was sold out, lol. Cubemart had AV, guhong and ghosthand but not haiyan, do you happen to know any other site that would have it?

Yeah, Speedcubeshop is a good store, but it is really hit or miss when it comes to good cubes being in stock. iCubemart does technically have all the cubes you mentioned. All a Haiyan Memory is is a modded AV. All Haiyan did was sand down the parts of the corners where the corners touch the centers. What I would do is order those cubes from iCubemart and just sand down the AV corners with fine, 150-180 grit sand paper. This accomplishes what Haiyan did to the Haiyan Memory cube. I had to do this mod on an AV because all USA stores were out of stock on that cube and after the mod the cube was significantly better. Let me just say this again. A Haiyan Mamory cube is a modded AV. You will probably just have to do the mod on an AV yourself if you want a Haiyan Memory before Christmas.

Why do people keep saying this so confidently? It's taking about a month for anything to get out of china.
I have been waiting for LighTake packages for over 6 weeks.

I've received two separate cubes in single packages to Australia about 7 - 10 days each after ordering them, each arriving within the last 4 weeks. I have two larger orders with tracking numbers that are already taking way longer than the first two and are probably still in China. This is just my experience and could be unrelated, but I think if you order single cubes without tracking, you may get them by Christmas.

Man, the regular type A is HORRIBLE. I have 20 different cubes, and the A is by far, the worst. It's not even as good as my storebought. The rest of the A cubes are great. Just stay away from the first. Get a new sealed A3, or A5. If you want what I think it's absolutely the best, get a Lingyun. I got one from Lightake, and it's the best. It killed the Gu Hong. Only bad thing about it is the popping. If you tighten it enough to not pop, it's just not as good, so you have to put up with a few pops.

its probaly because they uses china post now,Hk post is much faster..but i think there is some sort of problem with HK post and thats why they uses china post now.i dont think it has any thing to do with package sizes and i reckon orders with tracking number are faster
