Nice first layer! I remember I had problems with permuting the pieces on the 2x2 when I was using the beginner's method too..

What is the advanced method?

The "advanced" method is a corners only version of Fridrich. I always get sub-40 and usually sub-30 on Gabbasoft using it. On my 4x4 I get sub-20 usually.

The first layer is the same, but the 2nd layer is very different. It seems to be a lot like the Ortega method.

EDIT: It is nothing like Ortega.... It is just Fridrich LL. Just know that.

For a very advanced method, try Guimond. Good luck, I haven't learned it.
