Hello again,
I have gotten decent a F2L and I've been using only edge and corner permutations (individually) to solve my last layer. My question to you is i usually recognize my edge orientation (when doing Ua and Ub) by placing my "reference" edge, the one not being cycled closest to me. I have seen on many web pages and books where the edge is placed further from you then they are cycled. Is there an advantage or disadvantage to using either of these methods as i progress into learning FULL PLL?
I intuitively found the algs for the edge closest to me, thus this is all i have ever used, i am curios to your thoughts on this subject.
Also i ALWAYS place my "reference" or "correct" corner in the position on the left and closest to me. I do this for both the Aa and Ab perms. i then follow this with an x rotation. Again is there a disadvantage to this as i have often seen the "reference" corner not ALWAYS placed in this location.
*the grey picture is where i reference me edge in U perms
*the yellow is where i have seen U perm edge referenced
*the yellow edge is where i will ALWAYS put my corner in either Aa or Ab
*the white edge is where i NEVER place my un-cycled edge.
Again is what i've developed a bad habit as i dive into FULL PLL?
Will this habit hinder my recognition of other LL perms?
Thanks for your time!
If you plan to criticize me for my lack of search function or improper placing, I'll apologize in advance I used my best judgement in creating this post.
