i need one too... screwed up my uncle's studio from the 80s :O i feel so bad now. (i put petroleum jelly in it and you can imagine the results)

Also, they can be made quite good for speedcubing. Many of the Hungarians use or at least used to use them, I think, probably because they're easy and cheap to buy there.

Just compare both prices on c4y.com and you'll see, that the c4y cube is quiet cheap compared to the studio cube.
Its really nice in relation to its quality, and it possibly can be good for speedcubing(has got adjustable screws, cuts corners relativly good) but I atleast didn't manage to get a good tension, either its way to stiff or pops like hell!

used is the right use of words
it's easy and cheap to buy here (now that HUF is very weak, I'd say a studio cube costs around 6-7 dollars) but it's about the same easy and cheap to buy a storebought, which is much better (also we have some guys who mass-order diys, and sell them at low price). I don't think there are hungarian guys sub20, or even sub30 who use studio cubes for speed. although I know Bertalan Bodor used a veeery old one (maybe he used that since 03-04) for OH at hungarian open 08 (nearly 3rd, 24.84 avg)
anyway, I have the new version, if someone wants to buy it, and will be at french open, we can make the business
