Hi to all, I was trying using Pjk's method and I have a question(s): sometimes, i get only one edge piece in the correct place while the other three are in semi-corect place. What I mean is they form a cross but the colour do not match up with the sides only one do. So, how can I use the algorithms he teach? If somebody saying I should form the edge until it match his cases, then why wouldn't we form the cross with the correct edge piece from the beginning, using the method from the rubik's booklet we get when we buy the cube?

Thank you for the reply and so sorry if I sound to demanding.

Your instincts are correct. You should form the cross such that it is already aligned properly with the center caps. At the most, you should just have to rotate the face with the cross in order for them to align.

You can speed this up by learning the color order of your cube. This way you know that (for example), on the white face, it goes blue, red, green, orange (going clockwise). So you put the edges in that order, and then all you have to do is twist the up face until the edges all align.

BTW for anyone wondering what the PKJ method is, he is referring to this guide:

Hope that helped some.

Brian.

Hi Harry !

If you want to strictly follow the algorithms described in this tutorial, please simply use any of the two algorithms shown (apply it on two of the three bad edges) and this will result in 2 bad edges.

If you don't want to do too many useless moves, try what blgentry is telling you, ie try to make the cross already correct directly (so you don't need to "exchange" any edge pieces).
