hi ive been using petrus for about two weeks now and i currently average about 35 moves for the f2l. i was wondering if this was good and what a reasonable goal would be.any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Reasonable goal could be 25-30 moves, with a distribution something like this:

Step 1: 5 moves
Step 2: 5 moves
Step 3: 5 moves
Step 4a: 5 moves
Step 4b: 7 moves

By looking ahead you can often make the next step easier or, especially in steps 2-3, get a cancellation. Averaging below 25 moves is doable.

do you mean in a speed solve or when going for few moves?

can somone tell me where to find the petrus or fredrich methods?
and wut do i lubracate my cube with is vasaline ok?

As I've stated in a few threads I've been practicing Petrus so I was wondering about move counts. Obviously if something is possible it should eventually be the goal in speed as well as FM.
Anyway what are the maximum's I should try to go for? Like I heard in one tutorial never to get more than 6 moves on step 1. normally I can get around 15 moves or less for my S1+2 but not at full speed.
I'll take an average of my move count for F2L and edit it in I should start with the 23 moves I just got :-)
Loosely related does anyone remember the threads on one of the cube related yahoo groups on the PHZB method?
Edit: This is more Linear FM as this is like a 30-60 second f2l with a big pause between steps.
S1- 5, 5, 7, 8, 7 = 6.6
S2- 8, 6, 4, 8, 6 = 6.4
S3- 5, 3, 7, 7, 6 = 5.6
S4- 18, 9, 14, 14, 18 = 14.6
total: 33.2
My last step is surprisingly bad for a Fridrich user... I suppose I'm not used to doing these restricted cases, some of them can quite nasty.
